Gloria Govan, 24, fiance to LA Laker Matt Barnes, 30, made her dramatic final exit a few weeks ago on VH1's hit show 'Basketball Wives,' after calling Shaunie O'Neal (Shaquille O'Neal's ex-wife) every word in the book, including a c*nt. We weren't shocked to see Govan go out fighting, considering that from day one, her fellow cast memeber's animosity was difficult to ignore, forcing Govan to always be on the defense.

We chatted with the Bay area native about why the other basketball wives -- many 10 years her senior -- dislike her, the detriments of telling your business, and why she's convinced her fiance baller Matt Barnes would never cheat on her.

A bad breakup can be good a catalyst for new beginnings. Such is the case for Tionna Tee Smalls, co-star of VH1's reality series 'What Chilli Wants.' Smalls, who quit her job and ended a six-year relationship in 2007, wrote an independent book in jest that led her to landing a gig as relationship advice columnist online. Little did Smalls know that a VH1 producer read her column faithfully, and decided that Smalls would be the perfect person to work on the show in development with TLC member Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas .

The rest, as they say, is history, and now in its second season, Smalls is back on television helping Chilli really find and lock down a man. While the first season proved to be no easy feat, Smalls has now written another book that she hopes will not only help Chilli, but also other women searching for love.

Smalls recently chatted with Black Voices about her new book, the new season of the show, and her own new love.

In order for most relationships to work, communication is essential. And although most women and men are well aware of this, the differences in how we communicate can often cause signals to get crossed. Improving communication between males and females boils down to understanding and then accepting the different styles of communication, instead of trying to change it. Especially when it comes to understanding the language of women.

Generally speaking, female communication can be very difficult for men to decipher due to the complex way women express themselves. This complexity usually comes as a result of one of two reasons. First, women are usually far more detail oriented than men, who typically communicate by getting "straight to the point."

For example, a woman could attempt to tell her man about a certain co-worker who is bothering her at work, and somehow the story leads her to tell him details about what the co-worker had on, how many children she has, and what she ate for lunch. Sometimes when women expresses themselves, they include excessive details which can make it difficult for a man to pay attention or get the point she was trying to make.

The other most common reason men find it difficult to understand the language of a female is that we don't always say what we truly mean. It's baffling for a man to hear a woman say 'yes' and mean 'no', or say 'no' but really mean 'yes'. So in an attempt to crack the code, here is a simple guide to understanding the language of women, or what we like to call the 'Female Dictionary.'

Keri Hilson is now marching to the beat of her own drum. Her second album, 'No Boys Allowed', which hit stores Tuesday, offers insight into a new, more outspoken Hilson. However, not all have embraced Hilson's new sound. In recent weeks the songstress has been the topic of discussion regarding her music, specifically the video for her single, 'The Way You Love Me'.

The song and video have offended more than a few, and has been described as being everything from being way too racy to damn near pornographic. However, Hilson begs to differ. The 'Pretty Girl Rock' singer says people need to stop looking at things at surface value, and become more vocal in expressing their sexuality. Hilson recently spoke with Black Voices about her new album, sexual confidence, and tips on letting your man know what you want in the bedroom.

Chanita Foster, wife of NFL vet tackle George Foster, has shown Sunday after Sunday that she doesn't take any mess. Her reality show, 'Football Wives,' whose season finale is this Sunday at 9 p.m.on VH1, reminds us that there's not stopping her from stating how she feels.

Aside from her tough exterior and strong opinions, Chanita has proven she has a big heart and has continuously touched lives through her charity efforts. Black Voices recently caught up with the reality star to discuss her show, dating athletes and what it's really like to be a football wife.

How did you meet your husband?

I met my husband putting together a Steve Madden tournament; he was one of the invited athletes. We shared jokes about him being from Denver and eventually he asked me, 'Do you want to date me or work for me?' I was focused on work so I said work for him, but he asked me to go on one date, and the rest is history.

So you worked in the industry?

Yes, in sports management.

Had you dated many athletes before your husband?

I have dated athletes in my past. I dated an athlete all through high school and college, and he went on to make it to the pros. The reality is, I was in a profession surrounded by athletes, and although that was the world I was in, I was never moved by the same things females who date athletes are moved by.

So does it bother you when women ask you how to snag a football player?

Yes, that question gets on my nerves because women say it prematurely without knowing what goes along with it. I'm usually left thinking 'Oh girl you sound like a groupie.' How do you make a decision about who you want to love based on a job?

Celebrities are notorious for falling in love fast, and falling out even quicker. Looking back at 2010, many of our favorite celebs rode love's emotional rollercoaster all the way to a not-so-happy ending. All too often, these stars fell head over heels without taking into consideration the old saying, "haste makes waste".

Many couples -- such as Terius 'The-Dream' Nash and Christina Milian, Fantasia and Antwaun Cook, and even Kanye West and Amber Rose -- would have benefited from knowing when to pump the brakes. Most recently, singer Monica and L.A. Lakers player Shannon Brown are a classic example of this. Monica -- who has already tatted Brown's name on herself -- became engaged to him after dating for only four months. After receiving a great deal of criticism from fans on Twitter, the 'Everything to Me' singer was quick to defend her decision.

"We realize people will have their opinions, but we know who we are & who's we are," she tweeted. "We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether....I'm realistic enough about life to know my journey has just begun. I don't have anything else to say about it 2 people who judge. If u worked on urself u wouldn't even see me."

Celebrities aren't the only victims to acting swiftly in love, many of us have been guilty of the same thing. When feelings are so fresh, attempting to apply logic almost always proves futile. We either find ourselves, like Monica, on our way to the alter and defending our actions, or snapping to our senses after realizing that things aren't really what they appear to be.

Aubrey "Drake" Graham is one of the most charismatic rappers to date, thanks primarily to his laid-back demeanor, effortless charm and congenial attitude. In an October interview with Cosmopolitan, the Canadian rapper -- who has risen to become a ladies man of sorts -- brought up some very interesting points about love and relationships.

The 'Best I Ever Had' MC admitted to Cosmo that when it comes to compliments, there's nothing wrong with an ego boost every now and then from a woman. "I never mind hearing, 'You look nice tonight.' Guys put in a lot of silent effort. When I'm going on a date, I'm getting a haircut, I've got a new outfit and I'm wearing cologne. So it's nice when it's noticed."

Drizzy brings up a valid point Men need compliments just as much as women do! Despite how rugged your man appears to be on the outside, a little flattery goes a long way. Whether you're complimenting his look, or appreciating him for what he's done, making a man feel wanted can only have positive affects to a relationship.

Compliments for men may seem like a foreign concept to some women, which is why Black Voices has come up with 10 compliments any man would love to hear from his lady. Ladies, get ready to take notes!
