I think you got it backwards, because the handful of black men in the hood that are doing the right things need be more aknowledged by black women. You'd be suprise that doing so will cut down on how many yall can cut down on losing to women of other races. For those of you black women who disagree, ok keep on, your junk will continue to be women of other race's treasure.

Not many brothas are willing to be so vocal and positive about their love for their black women. Most are trying to justify aloud why we aren't so attractive especially in comparison to our blue-eyed counterparts. Black women are often times the back bone of not just the family unit as a whole, but also the community. Its nice to know that in the midst of those praising and elevating our fair skinned sistas that there's actually those men amongst us who truly adore and appreciate who we are. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Parker, I love it!

Be encouraged Brown sugah, there are many black men like me who know which ethnicity houses the epitome of female strength, beauty, intelligence and resilience. Granted, many of us won't say it or speak about it, but I have no problem, indeed I love giving sistas all the praise they deserve and then some.

@ Keith, you say that many black men wouldn't say what you just said and I am wondering why this is so. I mean afterall, the nurturing of a black woman is what got them from point a to z. So why are they ashame to admit that they love and respect the women that always loved and respect them? I'm just asking because I have brothas, and like you they adores black women and don't have a problem saying so.

Brown Sugah, Without speaking for anyone other than myself, I think the reluctance I have experienced when attempting to "open" up to Black women goes back to the way I was raised. In my small southern family emotions were not readily expressed. Indeed, I can count the times I was actually hugged or point blank told I was loved by my grandparents. This does not justify this seeming lack of willingness to talk, but I have come to realise from the advantages only life and years gives, that the ability to freely say how I feel is indeed a gift that many black men don't appreciate and therefore not use. In other words it took me years of hard life and challenges to respecct the value of telling people how much they mean to you while they are still on this side of the dirt. Especially our women.
I feel also, many black men don't take the time to study and look into the very real contributions black women have made to the stability and enddurance of us as a people. Yes they have also burdened the changes and hardships of this ever changing country, but to me that pales beside what black women in particular have had to endure from black men, but that's another blog. Brown sugah have a nice day. These are simply some of my thoughts and I find myself hoping you respond.
