When the majority of a household's financial responsibility falls on one spouse, it can create a huge strain on a marriage. Unfortunately, in this troubling economy, this has become more and more prevalent, and a great deal of women have been left pulling the weight in their marriages and families.
But is a man truly at fault for losing his job? Should he be patronized for no longer being able to support his family during poor economic times? Check out this week's episode of 'The Ring' as Rebecca and Mason debate whether it's fair to leave a man simply because he lost his job.

It is incredible that a "wife" views her mate as a paycheck. She has some unrealistic outlooks on marriage and really doesn't love her husband. Would she expect to be treated is like fashion if the tables were turned? We all know the answer to that. And we all know the type of female she truly is, and it isn't worth much. Peace
P.S. are any of you women wondering why men are becoming hesitant in getting married?

There's two sides to every story. some how some always has to make it the womans fault. And of course she's a "goldigger" even though she's the only one bringing in the money.

yeah marriage is a partnership...I have big issues with this one... they should have said... what if your spouse man or woman lost their job.. would you leave them... and its sad to say.. that alot of women would leave... hey the stress of not know whats going to happen is a bi-ch but you cant bail when things get bad.. you just cant... thats when the true test of what love is in a marriage when things get hard... because when they are good you know its all hearts and roses... but when the tough times roll around people act as if they cant take it...

Blackmen have trouble getting jobs even in good times for the following reasons. The service orient
jobs, have went to the illegal mexicans that come here to work for much less and are willing to accept any type of work condition. The employer discriminates, by having a bi-lingual requirement for the job.Educated blacks are often told they are over qualified or not enough experience. The4 other blacks have jail records for Felonious crimes
that requies trust.

This is true. Some women who are in this country without documents are even forced to have sex with their employer or get fired. They have no recourse.
And don't even get me started about the economy, how there are 5 applicants for every available job! And still the Republicans won't authorize any money to pay folks for the many things we need in the public sector! And look at their incomes, they are rich as Croesus! Look at all the money they have to pour into influencing elections! Don't tell me they DESERVE to be paid 500 times as much as minimum wage? Are they working 500 times as hard as anybody else?
VOTE! Vote Democrat!

I have had the opposite problem, my spouse has not worked in almost 2 years-I had a good job but I lost it and he had his own agenda and could not step up to the plate, the disappointment became overwhelming and has all but killed our marriage.

Where you made your mistake was not evaluating your husbands effort during those two years of not working. There are only two types of broke men in this world. The first one is the man isn't trying to do better, and the second one is the one that is trying to do better. There is nothing wrong with being with a man that makes less money than you, but it just boils down to both of your attitudes about money.

[YouKnowWho? Yes, we certainly do know who!]
Lynn, I hear you. I'd forgotten how long it has been since when I originally heard that same ol' bad-rapping of woman. When I remember how long and just how long, it came back to me that some men even think of it as part of their courting repertoire. Isn't that amazing?

thank god i dont have to worry about than, like know who said if it was the other way around then things would be ok i am single 250,000 house no debt ecept house too much money in the bank three vehicles paid for, educated, denzel stle looks, etc. i learned to do as the ladies do...if the only thing she can offer is sex and 3 kids then i dont venture that way! many have tried using sex and we men fall for that! MEN stop paying their bills and get yout own things and place to stay! cause when it is over she put your ass out and you have to start over out-doors. a black woman will only consider respect for you if you have your own!
