"Of course it was Damien's idea to get married, but it was me that took him to Tiffany. He picked a ring, and I got on one knee and asked him to marry me." –Seanmichael
When it comes to black love, the traditional union of a man and a woman is the model to be revered. Yet, there is a segment of the black population whose love is rarely acknowledged within the broader community, but it exists nonetheless.
Seanmichael Rodgers and Damien Ramsey, a couple residing in New York City and engaged to be married this spring, is an example of the love that challenges "traditional" models.
Seanmichael and Damien have been in a committed relationship for three years. Their commitment will ultimately lead them down the aisle in March. Over the past three years, there have been several Valentine's Day memories with each one competing to top the last.
While Seanmichael's plan to celebrate the holiday with his future husband remains a secret, he did reveal that it includes "100 candles, 10 wishes, 10 promises, 10 memories and 10 reasons."
The couple make it a priority to celebrate their love throughout the year and not just on Valentine's Day. Their weekly date night on Tuesdays gives each an opportunity to escape the stress of work and focus on nurturing their relationship.Seanmichael is a producer and vocal coach, and Damien is a singer-songwriter known as Dy'Ari (pronounced diary).

"Will you marry me"? asked Seanmichael.
"Yes"! "A million times," replied Damien.

Dear Special One,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend homosexuality, for example, I will simply remind him or her that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other laws in Leviticus and Exodus and how to best follow them.
1.When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Leviticus 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?
2.I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as stated in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3.I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Leviticus 15:19-24). The problem is, how can I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4.Leviticus 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify?
5.I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
6.A friend of mine says that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Leviticus 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7.Leviticus 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Um...Victoria, which version of the bible are you speaking of? Since you seem a bit ignorant of the world around you, I'm assuming you don't read Hebrew are Aramaic, which the original books were written in. Maybe you are reading from the same Bible that was used to justify slavery or maybe even interracial marriages. Maybe you are reading from the same Bible that has three different versions for the same story (Matthew, Mark, Luke) and is so full of contradictory statements regarding the rights of women, that it's laughable. Or maybe you are just reading from the translation that best suits your prejudices, like the Kings James Version, or maybe it's the more politicized versions that change the name, temple prostitute to homosexual to satisfy 1950s prejudices. All of you holy-rollers are the same. Ignorant and content to stay that way. You don't know God's will anymore than the next fella but you seem content to try to speak on his/her behalf. Get over your bigotry, educate yourselves and get a life!

I'm no theologian or authority on GOD'S Word; ( least of all am I in any position to interpret what HE wants in others lives ! ) I'm compelled, nonetheless to comment here as I love all GOD'S people& know that doesn't stop with those of us who are heterosexual. Like so many, I don't understand entirely, just why homosexuality happens. But my failure to understand doesn't give me license to condemn ANYbody. If it's GOD'S will that I provide a life-example, my prayers are that I'll be able to provide it without the evil-forces stealing the dialogue & corrupting it as it appears to have happened here. Let's just L O V E each other, black people ! GOD loves us all: Jesus wasn't so selective in HIS sacrificing, was HE ? Let's pray for over-standing such as is necessary for us to continue to run this race clled life. Four hundred years of un-dignified oppression weighs a lot heavier on my consiousness than who my neighbor is sleeping with. Again, I say: please, let's just L O V E each other black people !

Everything in the heavens and this world is Gods creation, including Satan. But to be Gods people,
has a requirement. You must obey his word to have faith, love, repentance.

Forget God forget the bible. Black love is between a black man and a black woman not with two mentally ill men who should be in a psych ward with a doll baby. There is nothing more filthy, nasty and disgusting than black men having demonic sex and an area that used to dispose body waste. These two cretins should be stoned and thrown on a garbage heap. They are freaks of nature and if they can't get turned on by a woman they should off themselves. This sickness of marrying the same sex should never be encouraged or accepted by blacks. Some black men will do anything to avoid taking on their roles as real men. This disgusting story should never had seen the light of day. These a=hole greasers are Satan disciples and the AIDS spreading butt sores of the black race. Dam them and may all black figs rot in the bowels of hell.

I am so proud of BV for being brave enough to share this BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY with the rest of us. I wish this happy couple the very best, reading their story and watching their video has given me hope that I too, one day will find my Prince Charming. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing whom you and and having a partner right by your side that knows exactly who he is also! God Bless You!

I feel this is wrong. I know this is against God's law; yet, I also know that I am not to judge my brother(s). Therefore, I will continue to love my brothers, (JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR THEM ALSO) but I will not turn a blind eye to their sinful acts. Just like I will not turn a blind eye to my own. SIN IS SIN! They will be judged for their sin; just like I will be judged for mine.
P.S. MARRIAGE IS MEANT FOR A MAN AND A WOMAN!
