Sex sells. So it stands to reason that a magazine with Reggie Bush and his bared chest and washboard abs on its cover would be quite popular indeed. Right? Maybe -- unless the magazine is Essence, and the issue in question is its February "Black Men, Love & Relationships Issue." While the magazine's loyal readers have found little fault with the sexy photo of the running back for the New Orleans Saints, many are (angrily) questioning why editors chose to put Bush, who dates the decidedly not black Kim Kardashian, on the cover of the love and relationships issue of a magazine dedicated to black women.
Should the opponents of the magazine cover lighten up and enjoy the pictures, or does Bush have no place on the cover of Essence's love and relationships issue? Let us know below.

I agree with you! Kim Katrashin is only with him because the man she likes would not have because she's trash i.e George Clooney!

Reggie Bush dating Kim Kardashian isn't a slap in my face. Reggie Bush dates who HE likes, and he has the right to do so. Interacial relationships are a real and increasing part of our society. I can think of many other things to consider a slap in my face, but this isn't one of them. If they are happy together and not hurting anyone, who are any of us to judge them or their relationship?

Ok...I don't mind so much that she isn't a black woman (though it irritates me a little), however it does bother me that he chose a woman who everyone has seen do EVERYTHING to RAYJ!! I mean come on man have some dignity. You mean you couldn't find anyone else without a "public" sex tape? That just makes me shake my head at him. Why? Yes she's cute and has a nice figure, but so does a million other black women. I guess sex sells and most men will sell their soul for some. I just know my momma would have slapped my brother if he would have brought her home. It wouldn't have mattered how much she made off of the tape sales! FYI Essence Mag...I like to see nice 12paks like any other sister, but I would rather see a brother on the cover who is a little more sensible and classy. Thanks anyway!

I must say that Reggie's relationship with Kim does not serve to make me (a young black woman) feel proud. It doesn't show he has love for the women of his race, true enough. BUT.....he can definitely sell magzines! LOL. You can't deny that brutha is fine! Aaaannnnddd.....who knows? He may not be with her long. :p

It doesn't take much for a black woman's racism to surface, does it? Just a little insecurity is all it took in this case. I pray that this woman (Danni) never has the gall to lob the term "racist" on any non-black, without first admitting her own racism. That goes for anyone who shares Danni's opinion or defends it.
I doubt Latina women or Asian women or Caucasian women would voice the same type of unified condemnation if Benjamin Bratt or Chow Yun Fat or Brad Pitt were dating Vanessa Williams, let alone have a major Latina, Asian, or White magazine publicize such a juvenile opinion.
Yeah, many blacks who read this & disagree will make excuses. "Racist" will be euphemized to "racial" when one of their own is the offender, the popular (& asinine) notion amongst blacks that only whites can be racist will be propagated, & blame will somehow be placed somewhere it shouldn't be. Yawn.
Your insecurities & racism are pathetic.

Its obvious that you have one-sided racist issues yourself. Sooner or later you will get on board with what the Essence staff and the rest of the planet seem to be moving toward - that is that IT DOESN'T MATTER who you date - or their race. I mean, do you believe GQ should only put people on the cover who date in their exact race? Your comment suggests you do. In that case, shame on you, as a black woman, to be such a cold racist in this day and age.
