When Mildred and Richard Loving married in 1958, their union was illegal in their home state of Virginia. Mildred, a black woman, and Richard, a white man, were arrested for daring to marry and both pleaded guilty. The couple left Virginia to avoid jail time. They wrote then-attorney general Robert F. Kennedy, and their case was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. On June 12, 1967, the court ruled that anti-miscegenation laws (which still existed in 16 states) were unconstitutional.Loving Day was created to honor the anniversary of the ruling, and every year on June 12, events are held across the country to celebrate the occasion.

I am a Black man, who has been married to a White woman for the past 43 years. We have three children who are normal, healthy, and professional, and they have children who are beautiful, intellegent, and never were taught to hate or discrimminate. I believe, as long as people deeply committed to each other and are in love. the choice of marriage should be up to them.
I am a bonafide veteran of the civil rights movement in the South and North. I am proud to be of the African American Race, while embracing all of humanity. I am Free, and happy. Marriage has nothing to do with the courts or anybody else who is outside of the relationship. Love across racial and cultural lines has neen part of our living since the creation of men and women. America is on the verge of serious change, because intermarriage is on the rise, and we are not going to be able to know what color anyone is in the coming years. Isn' that beautiful.

I think that there are black men and white men who have their attractions and preferences. I think that more than 50% of black men who date white women will date all or most races. Why keep yourself in a box to your own race? The same with white men. I am a black woman who grew up liking white men. I think that black men are attractive too. What an appropriate name...Celebrate Loving Day!

To me, the IRR thing is a revelation. Just look at how many movie producers (Otto Preminger and Dorothy Dandridge, for example), snatch-up the money and popularity greedy Blackfemale.
It also reveals why B/males have it so hrad in this "white man's world." He claims we want his white female, while he staedily using every overt nd covert means to suppress and oppress us. I don't hate the ungodly IRCouples, I hate the game of Black subjugation.
The onl goos d thing about them ("race-mixing") is it will bring the Western regions into predominantly Of Color (Nonwhite) places.

As a black man, I think IR dating/marriage in the black community is flawed, because 99.9999% of the time, the black woman dating/married to a white man hatred for black men and the same can be said of black men who date/marry white women. It's funny how black women, and quite a few black men are quick to say "Love knows no color" until approached by the opposite sex of their own race then all of sudden color enters the equation. It has been my experience that while love knows no color preference does.
