Mother's Day is fast approaching, do you know what you're going to get those special women in your life? Well this year Hallmark is making it easy with the release of these cards for just the occasion.

As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will be developing 6 African American-based cards for Hallmark just in time for Mother's Day.

These unique cards feature different images of the Ailey dancers, as captured by renowned photographer Andrew Eccles. Each card has an individual theme and are accompanied by inspirational quotes such as, "The strongest part of you is what you can't see-that resilient spirit of yours."

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has performed for an estimated 21 million people in 48 states, as well as 71 countries on six continents. The dance company, which was founded by choreographer Alvin Ailey in 1958, has been an ambassador for American culture ever since, starting by participating in President John F. Kennedy's Southeast Asia tour program.

Hallmark has had a good record as far as producing cards that speak to African American culture which dates back to the 1960's. With the Mahogany line, which was introduced in 1987, and the signature Maya Angelou card serious, they have produced an interesting and diverse selection of endearing greeting cards.

So get out there and let your mother know just how much you love her. At a retail price of $2.49 and availability in 3,780 stores across the country, you can't use the recession as an excuse not to get your momma something special.
